Days to Remember:
Mar 14th - With encouragment from Meela and Jason, I started my own Mommy and Me group specifically for first time moms with new babies. We've already got 25 members; you can google anything about Lawrenceville and moms and find my group; I've set up weekly meetings at our local library; And PBS is going to film one of our meetings in May for their national series "Real Moms, Real Stories, Real Savvy."
Mar 25th – As clear as can be that Kale knows and loves and wants his mama! He especially needs mom when it's sleep time! He gives me big smiles when I come into the room and often stops fussing if I take him from whoever’s got him.
Mar 26th – MILESTONE: Rollover from tummy to back!
Apr 3rd - Nanny Teena started, but Mommy still keeps coming into the room for hugs and kisses or when Kale cries.
Apr 6th - First Mommy and Me Group Meeting – 6 first time moms and babies showed up and Kale had a blast! He smiled at everyone, of course!
April 13th – Finally giggled instead of squirming and grunting when I tickled him. But then when I kept tickling him, he angrily screamed at me. But he did giggle all weekend at Brandt.
April 16th – Not only does Kale kick and squeal when Dad comes into the room now, but he LOVES LOVES LOVES his Daddy to sing and play guitar. He often stops crying at the sound of Jason’s guitar and his favorite go to sleep song is “Keep It There” by The Weepies. We have an “acoustic rock” music channel on the tv and he loves that too when it is a male voice on that sounds a bit like daddy.
April 21st – 4 month well visit for shots. 14 lbs 14 oz and 25.8 inches. Growing perfectly. Percentages show he's tall and thin. Exceeding all the milestones. Doctor says he’s so sociable and sweet and he’s just the kind of happy baby they love to see. She also says the fact that he is a happy guy and such a social guy is a personality trait that he will most likely hang onto in his later years. In general, when people meet him, the comments we get are: “Wow, he’s a really happy baby.” “He’s so laid back – does he ever cry?” “He smiles all the time, how sweet.” “He makes such expressive faces!” Mom and Dad couldn't be prouder.
May 2nd – FIRST Solids feeding – rice cereal – see video!
May 7th – FIRST stroller ride without the infant seat!!
May 9th – MILESTONE: Leaned forward to go to Daddy -first indication of wanting to go to someone.
