Days to Remember:
Jan 10th - FIRST bath with Daddy.
Jan 12th - TRICK: Puts phone to ear to say "hello."
Jan 12th - 12 month well visit (no shots because kale had fever a few days before) - 22lbs 7oz and 31 inches which is maintaining his same 35% weight and 70% height.
Jan 13th- FIRST shower with Mommy - he loves walking up and down the tub while mommy showers and he couldn't care less about the high pressure stream of water coming down on his head.
Jan 14th - MILESTONE: Fed himself with spoon. Took the spoon from me, dipped it in his food and fed himself (this is all without any prompting from mommy or daddy)!
Jan 16th - Nanny Tiff's first day - SHE IS AWESOME!
Jan 18th - Another molar popping out.
Jan 27th - Kale starts his 3rd semester of music class, which he's been taking since he was 5 months old!
Jan 28th - Another set of shots including chicken pox vaccine. He did great, although the nurse commented that he was very strong.
Jan 29th - Kale is learning to share (he hands me stuff on his own and if I say "it's mommy's turn"). He is also learning to put stuff back or away properly instead of throwing on the floor or leaving a mess. After we played with a bucket of toys, we had "clean up time" and with help, he put the toys back in the bucket and we put the bucket away. He also will take a toy or his cards from one table and move them to another table instead of the floor.
Feb 4th - Points for"where's your nose?" and "where's my nose?" Makes up games to play by himself mostly with his balls, but with other toys too.
Feb 5th - MILESTONE: Shakes head "No." Understands "sit down" and "stand up".
Feb 6th - 2 more molars (upper left and lower left).
Feb 7th - Held out arms to go to Tiffany. Shakes head No for certain foods, tv shows, and toys.
Feb 9th - FIRST: Haircut.
Feb 10th - "Counts" his fingers. 7th cold, but now is old enough to watch tv and sleep through most of it.
GENERAL: He is understanding a lot of instructions and it has become quite easy to simply talk to him like he understands everything and he behaves like he does. Things/Instructions I've noticed or remember he understands lately:
-- "Get your ball”
-- “Ring the door bell on your house – bing bong”
-- “Say hello” with the phone
-- “Blow/give a kiss”
-- “Dance” or "Are you dancing?"
-- “Stomp your feet”
-- “No”
-- “Close the door”
-- "I can't see you, can you please come back here?"
-- "Want to play ring around the rosies?" He comes over and grabs both my hands.
-- "Down" (from the ring around the rosies song, he sits down)
-- "Want to play rolie polie?" He rolls around on the floor while I say rolie polie over and over.
-- “Lights on” or “lights off” – flips the switch
-- “Good job”
-- “Yaay” - does his retardo clap. He often walks around doing random tricks and then clapping for himself and looking at us for approval.
-- "Do you want your music?" Goes over to the stereo.
-- "Hurrah!" Raises his hand up in the air
-- "Can you cheer for Daddy? Woo Woo Woo?" Does a cheering motion with his arm.
-- Stops crying if I "spank" whatever it is he bumped himself on
-- Sings whenever Daddy plays guitar. Recognizes the different parts to the songs.
-- Spins around in circles to make himself dizzy and then giggles when he stumbles.
-- Picks out the books that he likes out of his book basket and brings them over to read to us.
-- Pretends to count the pictures in the book by pointing (not talking)
-- "Where's your head?" and "Head, shoulders, knees and toes"song -touches his head and his toes.
-- Shouts to someone to call them from the other room.
-- Knows sign language for eat and milk.
--Brings over the tv remote and whines to turn on the tv.
--Brings over the stereo remote to turn on the music -looks at the correct box that the remote controls.
--At the last page in of a book, he starts clapping.
