Days to Remember: On Jan 7th, Kale essentially slept through the night going 6 hours between feedings! On Jan 8th, he seemed to really recognize Mommy and quiet down when she held him. He's also been lifting his head up and tracking toys and our faces with his eyes for a long time now - clearly he's very strong as well as a genius! He loves Daddy's shoulder when his tummy hurts and he also loves our cheapo rocking chair. He likes to sleep in the big pack N play we have downstairs, but hated the mini one we kept in our room. We have no idea why. He preferred to sleep by himself in his crib in his room. Now, he sleeps in his snuggle nest with us for one of his night time sleeps cause it's so much easier to have him right there. And it's so cute to see him open his eyes, look at mommy or daddy, and go back to sleep, clearly happy that we're right there! So much for not letting him in the bed with us. But he still sleeps by himself most of the time!

Kale's favorite time of the day is when he gets his olive oil massage after his bath. He especially loves his booty massage! He grunts really loud and turns bright red when he's pooping - we even find him adorable when he poops! He also thinks he's a much bigger boy than he is and he gets in our way by trying to hold his bottle. He can hold his pacifier to his mouth really well. His favorite song when he's upset is "You are my Sunshine" and when he eats he likes "Old Macdonald" or whatever Daddy is singing and playing on the guitar. He doesn't especially care about his bouncer or his swing yet. Daddy discovered the best way to burp him is to bounce him up and down and sing "burpie burpie burpie" and yes, we have to sing the burpie song or he won't do it!!!

Best of all, we got our first real smiles!! Daddy got his Jan 15th and the next day Mommy got hers all day long confirming that it's not gas anymore!!! We still need to catch it with the camera though.
